Find University of Copenhagen jobs and set up vacancy alerts
Use the official Job Agent route to explore PhD, postdoctoral, faculty and research-support opportunities. Start with a dated vacancy shortlist, then check the full notice before applying.
What the Job Agent page offers
The university’s employment site separates faculty and academic jobs, tenure-track roles, PhD positions, teaching appointments, and administrative/research-support posts. The supplied Job Agent page displays vacancies and links to a separate alert-registration service.
This guide focuses on searching and monitoring opportunities. For a complementary overview, see CareerAidHub’s Copenhagen postdoctoral and faculty guide.
Selected current openings
These four advertisements had future dates when reviewed. They represent selected opportunities, not a total count of positions. Search the title or identifier through the official page at the end.
| Opportunity | Identifier and unit | Deadline | Points to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| PhD: Organometallic Chemistry | 168922 · Chemistry | 30 October 2026, 23:59 GMT+1 | Regular master’s-equivalent route or integrated bachelor’s-equivalent route; check scheme conditions |
| Postdoc: Theoretical Catalysis | 171147 · Chemistry | 15 November 2026, 23:59 CET | Relevant computational chemistry/DFT/physical modelling PhD; two-year role |
| Tenure-track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor: Food and Ingredient Biochemical Processing | 168562 · Food Science | 28 October 2026 (portal listing) | Rank-specific research/teaching criteria; substantial Kalundborg activities; Danish teaching expected within 3–6 years |
| 14 BRIDGE postdoctoral fellowships | 169159 · Translational Excellence Programme | 9 February 2027, 23:59 CET | Relevant PhD/equivalent and mentor team; additional experience limits apply |
PhD example: Organometallic Chemistry
The project studies earth-abundant transition-metal catalysis, including conversion of CO₂ and biomass. The expected start is 1 February 2027 or later. Applications are in English and include a motivation letter of at most one page, CV, degree records and translations where required. Publications and reference letters are requested if available.
Postdoc example: Theoretical Catalysis
The role involves atomic-scale simulations of catalytic processes, including electrocatalysis and high-entropy materials. The notice requests motivation, CV, master’s and PhD diplomas or equivalent, and a complete publication list. The proposed start is 1 February 2027 or later.
BRIDGE: a separate programme application
The 14-fellow call targets translational medicine and starts on 1 September 2027. Applicants need a qualifying mentor team and must check the PhD-age and prior UCPH postdoc-experience limits. Current doctoral candidates may apply with the specified supervisor declaration if they expect to defend before commencement. This is a co-designed project application, so begin mentor discussions early.
For every role, reopen the advertisement to confirm availability, closing time and attachments. A date in a portal table is not a substitute for the detailed instructions.
How to set up job alerts
The “Sign up for job alerts” link leads to a form that requests an email address and offers faculty/workplace and job-category selections. Some labels are in Danish. The service describes sending relevant vacancies by email and provides an unsubscribe route in those messages.
- Open the official Job Agent page below.
- Select “Sign up for job alerts”.
- Review the available workplace and role categories.
- Choose preferences that match your interests.
- Read the registration terms and complete the form’s instructions yourself.
As a search strategy, begin with a manageable set of categories. Review the relevance of the messages you receive and adjust your choices if the results are too broad. Keep a separate shortlist of vacancies worth investigating.
Eligibility, salary and location checks
There is no single eligibility or salary package for the whole portal. Compare the advertised qualification level, subject expertise, experience, language and work-location conditions.
- For PhD roles, identify the exact study structure and education-equivalence requirements.
- For postdocs, match your methods and research experience to the project.
- For faculty roles, check rank-specific research and teaching evidence.
- Before accepting an offer, clarify gross pay, pension, deductions, duration and joining arrangements.
The Food Science notice permits applications at more than one rank, but requires separate applications for each. Read its full assessment and document instructions before choosing a level.
How to submit an application
UCPH says unsolicited applications are not processed. Use the digital application form linked in the advertisement or its “APPLY NOW” button. The university sends an email acknowledgement after submission. For persistent technical problems, contact the person named in the notice.

- Check transcripts, translations, publication lists and other requested documents.
- Submit early enough to resolve missing files or technical issues.
- Retain the acknowledgement and monitor the address used in your application.
These preparation suggestions are CareerAidHub guidance. The individual notice controls what must be submitted.
Career Accelerator support
CareerAidHub’s Career Accelerator Program offers profile review, career mapping, tailored CVs, cover letters, SOPs and research statements, professor outreach, targeted opportunity mapping and 1:1 mentorship.

Frequently asked questions
Is Job Agent one fellowship or recruitment call?
No. It is a route to vacancy listings and job-alert registration. Each advertised appointment has its own requirements and deadline.
Does signing up for alerts submit a job application?
No. An alert subscription helps you discover vacancies. Apply separately through the digital form attached to the relevant advertisement.
Is the table a complete list of vacancies?
No. It is a selected snapshot checked on 24 October 2026. Browse the live portal for the full changing list.
Can I use one document package for every role?
Use a master CV as a starting point, then tailor it. Check the exact document list, page limits and qualification evidence for each post.
How should I compare the two PhD routes?
Read the education-equivalence and enrolment conditions in the notice. Do not assume a bachelor’s degree qualifies you for the regular master’s-entry route.
Does a Copenhagen vacancy always mean work in central Copenhagen?
Check the work location. The featured Food Science notice includes substantial activities at Campus Kalundborg.
Can I assume every role is taught or conducted only in English?
No. Read the language conditions. The featured Food Science faculty notice includes a future Danish-teaching expectation.
Can CareerAidHub secure an appointment or register my alerts?
CareerAidHub provides independent information and optional application preparation. Register your own alert preferences and submit applications directly to the university.
