NTNU Business Administration Postdoc 2026 at a Glance

The purpose of the appointment is to help the selected researcher build a profile that supports future qualification for an associate-professor-level academic career. The position is conditional on external funding and requires regular physical presence at NTNU.

Choose One of Five NTNU Business School Research Centres

The postdoctoral fellow will be affiliated with one of the following research centres:

• BRIDGE AI-Lab;
• Center of Accounting and Innovation in the Public Sector;
• Centre for Banking and Finance;
• Centre for Real Estate and Environmental Economics; and
• NTNU Centre for Sport Management Research.

The applicant’s research plan must fall within the focus area of one of these centres.

Main Duties of the Postdoctoral Fellow

The official vacancy identifies the following core responsibilities:

• continue independent research activities and explore ideas within the selected research centre;
• present research at international conferences;
• publish in international peer-reviewed journals;
• develop and participate in research proposals;
• help build research activity and collaboration within the selected centre; and
• mentor students in research projects, methodology and academic writing.

The role also gives the fellow opportunities to travel, develop international research networks and participate in conferences.

Required Eligibility

If the selected candidate does not already hold the educational competence required for an associate professor position in Norway, NTNU states that the university will arrange for this competence to be developed during the employment period. Relevant teaching may then form part of the career-development work.

Factors That Strengthen an Application

• publications in recognised international journals;

• project-management or project-development experience;

The application must include:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D. diplomas and transcripts;
• complete CV covering education, publication list and previous research experience;
• copy of the doctoral thesis, or a draft for candidates close to submission;
• research plan containing a short proposal and a three-year progress plan, aligned with one of the five research centres;
• up to five academic works, published or unpublished;
• possible recommendation letters; and
• names and contact details of three referees.

Applicants whose education was completed outside Norway are also asked to provide documentation describing the scope and quality of their education. Where available, an HK-dir recognition statement may also be attached.
