Sponsored projects can recruit PhD-qualified researchers as Postdoctoral Research Associates. These are normally tied to a named principal investigator, project title, funding agency, technical scope and fixed application deadline.

3. Research Associate positions that function at postdoctoral level

Eligibility for the Open ISRO-RESPOND Postdoc

• Doctorate or equivalent degree in Science, Engineering or Technology; or
• three years of research, teaching and design/development experience after M.E./M.Tech., with at least one research paper in a Science Citation Indexed journal, for Research Associate-I consideration.

Experience in AI/ML model development for object tracking and/or Doppler Weather Radar data processing is desirable. The official advertisement states that interviews will be held at the IIT Indore Simrol campus.

Eligibility: There Is No Single IIT Indore Postdoc Rule

Eligibility is defined by the individual sponsor and project. Candidates should not copy requirements from an earlier IIT Indore fellowship and assume that they apply to a new call.

A recent SAKSHAM ANRF-PAIR National Postdoctoral Fellowship advertisement in Environmental Sustainability and Energy Technology illustrates how specific a call can be. It required a relevant PhD, Indian citizenship, at least two research publications, and at least one recent first-author or corresponding-author paper in a reputed peer-reviewed journal. The same advertisement stated that candidates with a granted patent would receive preference.

• whether the PhD must already be awarded;
• citizenship or nationality restrictions;
• age limits set by the funding agency;
• publication or patent requirements;
• GATE/NET or other qualifying-examination requirements, where stated;
• required experimental, computational or field-research skills;
• project-specific experience; and
• availability to join within the required timeline.

Fellowship, Salary and Duration

IIT Indore does not publish one standard postdoctoral stipend for every route. Compensation and tenure follow the relevant fellowship, sponsor or project rules.

The required dossier changes from one advertisement to another. A practical core file set for IIT Indore postdoctoral applications includes:
