The notification dated 21 July 2026 extended both calls from their original closing date. An accessible application link does not establish reopening.
Ranks and vacancies in the closed calls
The regular notice advertised ten UR Assistant Professor Grade I/II vacancies. The SRD notice advertised 44 backlog vacancies: OBC-NCL 15, SC 12, ST 9, PwD 5 and EWS 3.
The page’s longstanding URL mentions Associate Professor. That rank is not advertised in these two verified June 2026 calls. Use each advertisement’s actual scope.
Departments and specialisations
The regular call covered Astronomy/Astrophysics/Space Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Sustainability, Biosciences and Biomedical Engineering, and Innovation.
The SRD additionally listed Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science, and Physics.
Preparation guidance: Check the exact specialisation and any corrigendum. A department name alone does not establish eligibility or confirm a future vacancy.
Historical eligibility reference
The regular notice invited Indian nationals and OCIs. Its general criteria required a relevant PhD and first class/equivalent in the preceding degree. Grade I required three years’ industrial/research/teaching experience excluding PhD time; Grade II was contractual. General maximum ages were 35 and 32 respectively.
The School of Innovation had separate provisions, including specified non-PhD routes. Read them in full rather than assuming the general criteria apply unchanged. Category-specific relaxation and other conditions must be checked in the selected notice.
Editorial guidance: Build a dated experience record supported by certificates. Identify the degree, branch and specialisation used to establish your fit. Ask the institute about unresolved equivalence questions.
