International Faculty Recruitment

Project Associate-II: ANRF Project at the Centre for Clean Environment

VIT invites applications for one Project Associate-II position under an ANRF-funded project at the Centre for Clean Environment.

Project title

Investigation of the most toxic ultrafine Particulate Matter (PM1) across three climatic zones in India: Emissions, Toxicity, Health, and Policy.

Qualification routes

Applicants must satisfy one of the following qualification routes and have two years of relevant experience:

1. A master’s degree in Environmental Science, Physics, Climate Change, Atmospheric Science, Meteorology or an equivalent subject.
2. A master’s degree in Engineering or Technology in Environmental Engineering or an equivalent subject.
3. A four-year bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Energy, Chemical or Biotechnology Engineering, or an equivalent engineering or technology discipline.
4. A four-year degree in Medicine (MBBS) or Public Health with equivalent experience in climate-health impacts or public health.

The required experience must be in research and development within industrial or academic institutions, science and technology organisations, or scientific activities and services relevant to climate change, air pollution, policy or advocacy.

Preferred capabilities

• field monitoring and environmental assessment;
• chemical analysis and data analysis;
• mathematical modelling;
• geographic information systems;
• technical writing;
• MATLAB proficiency; and
• epidemiology or policy modelling for applicants from medicine or public health.

Monthly remuneration

Appointment period

The project duration is five years. The initial appointment is for one year and may be extended annually for up to five years, depending on satisfactory performance and the availability of funds.
