Grade: Grade-A
Recruitment Mode: Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by Group Discussion (GD), Group Task (GT), and Personal Interview (PI).
Disciplines Eligible
Applicants must hold a B.E./B.Tech or equivalent degree in one of the following core disciplines:
Chemical Engineering and allied specializations (Refinery, Petrochemicals, Biochemical, Petroleum, etc.)
Electrical Engineering (including Electronics & Power, Instrumentation, Power Systems, Electrical & Computer, etc.)
Instrumentation Engineering (including Control Systems,
Electronics & Instrumentation, Applied Electronics, etc.)
Note: Degrees in interdisciplinary fields such as Mechatronics or Robotics are not eligible for this recruitment.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have obtained their degree through a full-time, regular program from a recognized university.
Minimum marks:
General/EWS/OBC-NCL: 65% aggregate.
SC/ST/PwBD: 55% aggregate.
Final-year students can apply provisionally, provided they submit proof of qualification by October 2025.
Age Limit
General/EWS: Maximum 26 years as of July 1, 2025.
OBC (NCL): Relaxation of 3 years.
SC/ST: Relaxation of 5 years.
PwBD: Additional relaxation as per Government of India rules.
Ex-servicemen/commissioned officers: As per existing norms.
Other Key Requirements
Candidates must provide valid caste, category, or disability certificates (if applicable) in prescribed formats.

Selection Process
The selection procedure is designed to evaluate both technical competence and
A. Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)
Format: 100 objective-type questions.
Sections:
Domain Knowledge – 50 questions.
General Aptitude:
Quantitative Aptitude – 20 questions.
Logical Reasoning – 15 questions.
English Language Proficiency – 15 questions.
Duration: 150 minutes (with extra compensatory time for eligible PwBD candidates).
Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer.
Centers: CBT will be conducted in 44 cities across India, including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh.
B. Stage 2: Group Discussion (GD) & Group Task (GT)
Focus on communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving.
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of CBT scores will participate.
C. Stage 3: Personal Interview (PI)
Final stage to assess domain expertise, problem-solving approach, and overall fit for IOCL.
Composite Merit List
CBT: 85% weightage.
GD/GT: 5% weightage.
PI: 10% weightage.
Minimum qualifying marks vary by category (General/EWS/OBC-NCL: 45% composite; SC/ST: 40%; PwBD: 30%).
