BITS follows a structured faculty appointment and promotion pathway:
Assistant Professor (Academic Level-12)
Candidates must hold a PhD, typicallywith fewer than three years of experience. At least four publications (two in high-quality international journals) are required. A three-year probation is mandatory before promotion.Associate Professor (Academic Level-13A2)
Requires a PhD with six years of post-doctoral experience (three years as Assistant Professor Grade I). Applicants must have ten publications, supervision of at least one PhD student, and a track record in securing research funding.Professor (Academic Level-14A)
